perception
From afar it seems like nothing is wrong.
You act as if no one notices the way you shake your right hand.
The way you quiver in fear of making a mistake.
Your voice doesn't give it away but your body can't say the same.
Maybe you're afraid of the constant judgement.
Maybe you're afraid of the constant pressure.
So you hold hand against your head and push your hair back.
As if those curtains are hiding something deeper.
The deeper you want to go the harder it becomes to hold everything together.
One minute at a time, you look away from your friends, trying to search for something.
Something small, maybe just a lifeline or a connection.
You seem anxious of your current lifestyle.
You want something new.
So your eyes keep darting around looking for a real connection.
Trust me, you won't find it here.
On a Sunday.
